The Urban Youth Empowerment Program (UYEP) is open to youth between the ages of 16 and 24 who are currently unemployed, underemployed and/or not enrolled in school. The program includes paid and unpaid work experiences; tutoring, study skills training; occupational training skills; alternative secondary school offerings; post-secondary educational opportunities; comprehensive guidance and counseling; entrepreneurial skills training; adult mentoring; support services; and much more! The Emerging Leaders Program is a six week summer youth employment program in partnership with the City of Austin in which high school students get the opportunity to gain experience in a work environment via a paid internship. The internship program also includes educational field trips and professional development workshops. Students are placed in different locations based on their interests and future job aspirations.
