Job Summary

We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced BICSI Cabling and Fiber Instructor to join our team. As an instructor, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality training programs, ensuring that our students acquire the knowledge and skills required to excel in the telecommunications and networking sector. Essential Duties and responsibilities

  • Conduct BICSI Cabling and Fiber courses in a classroom and/or online environment
  • Develop and update course materials, including presentations, handouts, and assessments
  • Provide hands-on training and practical demonstrations related to cabling and fiber optic installation, termination, and testing
  • Foster a positive and engaging learning environment, encouraging student participation and questions
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support
  • Stay current with industry trends, standards, and emerging technologies in cabling and fiber optics
  • Collaborate with the curriculum development team to enhance training programs
  • Participate in professional development activities to further your own expertise

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated proficiency in cabling systems, including copper and fiber optic technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Demonstrated ability to develop instructional materials and curriculum for courses
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population
  • Knowledge of structured cabling design, installation, and maintenance
  • Skill in adapting teaching methods to different learning styles and levels
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word)
  • Working knowledge of office equipment (printers, fax machines)

Required Education

  • Minimum Associate’s degree with two years of practical related experience, or proof of satisfactory completion of secondary education, i.e. (Certificates/Certifications) and five years of practical related experience may substitute education requirements.
  • Proof of teacher/instructor experience


Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with one year of practical experience and proof of adult learning/education techniques.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is asked to communicate with the Director of Tech and Career Academy and AAUL President/CEO. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and lift or move boxes of supplies 10-50lbs to support classroom initiatives.
