Development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information in order for management to make sound decision result in terms of revenues and expenditures to operate the agency more effective.
Maintains agency’s system of accounts and keeps books and records on all agency financial transactions.
Responsible for monitoring the expenditures of the organization to ensure compliance with the fiscal obligations of funding sources.
Researches and analyzes transactions to resolve budget problems; provides analysis of available funds at management request.
Monitors payroll data from ADP to ensure data accuracy.
Responsible for posting, balancing, and reconciliation of the general ledger, subsidiary accounts, bank statements.
Monitors and reports on the status of grants.
Responsible for providing the agency and its management with the appropriate financial information when necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of accounting and basic principles and practices.
Ability to examine and verify financial documents and reports.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
A minimum of three (3) years’ experiences ideally gained through increasingly responsible positions within Finance, preferably with a non-profit agency.
Knowledge and experience in fund accounting and capable of instituting acceptable accounting principles.
Other Qualifications / Duties
Must be willing to work flexible hours when needed.
