Essential Duties and responsibilities

  • Development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information in order for management to make sound decision result in terms of revenues and expenditures to operate the agency more effective.
  • Maintains agency’s system of accounts and keeps books and records on all agency financial transactions.
  • Responsible for monitoring the expenditures of the organization to ensure compliance with the fiscal obligations of funding sources.
  • Researches and analyzes transactions to resolve budget problems; provides analysis of available funds at management request.
  • Monitors payroll data from ADP to ensure data accuracy.
  • Responsible for posting, balancing, and reconciliation of the general ledger, subsidiary accounts, bank statements.
  • Monitors and reports on the status of grants.
  • Responsible for providing the agency and its management with the appropriate financial information when necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of accounting and basic principles and practices.
  • Ability to examine and verify financial documents and reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experiences ideally gained through increasingly responsible positions within Finance, preferably with a non-profit agency.
  • Knowledge and experience in fund accounting and capable of instituting acceptable accounting principles.

Other Qualifications / Duties

  • Must be willing to work flexible hours when needed.
